One Stop Service Centers are the most tangible evidence of the changes wrought by the Workforce Investment Act.
Gone are the days where job seekers would be “bounced” from one agency to
another, filling out redundant information, reiterating their issues and concerns only to find themselves back where they began.
By contrast, “One Stop” is a streamlined system providing ALL job seekers ready access and informed referral to a wide variety of services and agencies represented on site.
All One Stops offer use of computers and reference materials, resume building software, economic data and online job postings. In addition job seekers can access a wealth of printed materials, data and applications.
Individual assessments, career counseling and job search assistance are also provided, along with the opportunity to network and participate in workshops.
